We have selected some truly amazing dishes to create for our German Feast. One may have been just because I love saying the name. Kartoffelpuffer, anyone?
You can’t go past a Flamenkuchen, kind of like a pizza, but different! This is fun and delicious!
Next up we’ll make Spaetzle, a type of egg noodle that we’ll serve with Mushroom Gravy that is packed with the most beautiful flavours.
We’ll also make my favourite sounding dish - Kartoffelpuffer. This German style potato pancake can be taken either sweet or savoury. We’ll fry it until is beautifully golden and crisp, and then serve it with an Apple Mousse which we’ll also make from scratch.
The last dish on our savoury menu is Schweinshaxe. A cut of pork that is cooked until it is meltingly tender and simply falls apart.
And if that isn’t enough to pop your trouser buttons, we’ll finish the feast on a sweet note. A classic Bienenstich. This German Bee-Sting cake is perfectly light with a creamy filling and finished with caramelised almonds.
It will be an epic Saturday that I can’t wait to share with you. Kartoffelpuffer (tee hee hee).
