This gorgeous Major Mitchell's cockatoo simply had to be part of my wooden block collection! I absolutely loved painting this one, capturing all the intricate detail in those beautiful pink feathers and that spectacular crest, with its flashes of red, yellow and white. The dark denim blue background really makes the colours glow, and I particularly enjoyed bringing out the light and shadows around his face and feathers. Such a stunning Australian bird with so much character.
Painted on a solid wooden block with a rustic finish, this piece can stand beautifully on a bookshelf or tabletop, or be hung on a wall.
Every painting is hand-wrapped by me with a handwritten note — a piece of my studio sent straight to your home.
Original painting 25cm x 25cm x 3cm wide Acrylic on solid wood block
