Magpies are such characters, and I love having them in my garden. They're curious, intelligent birds, always keeping a keen eye on what's going on and quite happy to boss the other birds about! Another in my wooden block series, I particularly enjoyed capturing the light and shadow across this magpie's face, with the beautiful white feathers standing out against the dark background. That lovely reddish-brown eye really brings his personality to life.
Painted on a solid wooden block, this piece can stand on a shelf or tabletop, or be hung on a wall.
Every painting is hand-wrapped by me with a handwritten note — a piece of my studio sent straight to your home.
Original painting 25cm x 25cm x 3cm wide Acrylic on solid wood block
