The Bush Comes Alive
This painting brings together some of the Australian birds, animals and plants I love: a colourful lorikeet, a curious echidna, banksias, a waratah and flowering gum. I wanted it to feel full of life, as though you’ve paused in the bush and started noticing everything happening around you.
I had such fun building up the texture of the flowers, seed pods and echidna’s spines. Against the warm golden background, the colours have a brightness that makes this a joyful piece of Australiana.
