Part of my rose series, this painting brings pretty pink blooms together with a deep, moody plum background. I absolutely loved working with those rich shades and seeing how they made the roses glow.
Soft petals, little unopened buds and stems visible through the glass vase were such a pleasure to paint. There’s something romantic about this arrangement—the flowers have room to shine, and the background gives their sweetness a little drama.
