Galahs have such wonderful personalities, and I wanted this one to feel every bit as full of character as the birds themselves. The lifted crest, bright eye and rather proud pose caught my attention first.
I loved working the warm pinks and deeper plum colours through its chest, then adding cool blue to the wings and crest. Against the gentle peach background, the whole bird seems to glow. It’s a portrait with a little attitude and a lot of charm.
