I have such an affection for kookaburras, and this is another in my series of paintings on solid timber blocks. I particularly loved playing with the light and shadows in this one, bringing out those beautiful blues, soft lilacs and warm browns in the feathers. Getting just the right amount of glow against the dark background was such a pleasure to paint. I love how the light catches his feathers and brings this gorgeous Australian bird to life. The solid timber block has a lovely rustic appeal and can be displayed on a shelf or tabletop, or hung on a wall.
Every painting is hand-wrapped by me with a handwritten note — a piece of my studio sent straight to your home.
