I had so much fun with this Highland cow, starting with a rustic palette knife background full of texture, then getting lost in the details of that wonderfully shaggy coat. Rich copper, brown and golden strands tumble over its face, with a sweeping horn and soft muzzle peeking out beneath the fringe.
The little highlights around the nose and mouth were a particular joy to paint. There’s so much character in that face, even with the eyes hidden—an endearing combination of wild hair and quiet confidence.
