A fast growing hardy small to medium shrub, around 2 to 3 metres high and 2metres wide, massed with golden ball flowers in spring. Naturally grows in dry or moist soils, well drained gravels or sandy soils and adapts well to clay. Likes full sun to dappled shade. Frost tolerant and attracts seed feeding birds. A good pioneer plant which fixes nitrogen from the air.
