Salvia sagittata Mosquito
Super rare and hard to find and one of my absolute favourite salvias so far.
It has flowered all through winter and all through the rest of the year. I was waiting for it to stop flowering so I could propagate it and it didn’t stop, so I had to go anyway. It’s also one of the truest and dark blues I’ve seen yet.
Recently introduced from Ecuador, this is one of the most gorgeous blue Salvias I’ve ever seen. Grows to 1m tall and wide, it bears smallish, rich, intense gentian blue flowers well displayed on long, arching, floriferous spikes all year. Very attractive, thick, lime-green, deltoid foliage too. Highly recommended!
