Escallonia Newport Dwarf (Escallonia hybrid) is a reliable, fast growing, sun loving, dwarf evergreen shrub that bears an abundance of ruby pink flowers in summer.
Ideal for hedges borders or screening, Escallonia are particularly hardy and will cope with coastal conditions as well as a hot dry location, although they will not cope with humidity. Frost hardy and drought tolerant once established, Escallonia will quickly produce a good quality hedge and can be clipped into formal hedge or left as is for a more informal look.
Prefers a full sun to part shade position. Plant 30-40 cm apart for hedges and borders
